Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup

- 1Slice the onion into semi rings, shred the cabbage and grate the carrot. Sauté onion, carrot and cabbage in oil till all are very soft.
- 2Add chopped tomatoes and juice from the can.
- 3Add caraway, salt to taste, bay leaf, and water (about 5-6 cups).
- 4Cook till cabbage is very, very soft.
- 5Stir in balsamic vinegar and sugar very well.
- 6Serve with bread, sour cream or by itself.
