Crispy Oven Fried Chicken
Not all fried chicken's should be put in the penalty box - this one tastes excellent but is actually good for you.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lowfat buttermilkNutrition
- 1 1/2 tbsps garlic powderNutrition
- 1 tsp ground gingerNutrition
- 1 1/2 tbsps onion powderNutrition
- 1/2 tsp paprikaNutrition
- 2 tsps black pepperNutrition
- 1 tsp poultry seasoningNutrition
- 1 tsp vegetable oilNutrition
- 4 breasts, bone and skin removed chickenNutrition
- 4 drumsticks, bone and skin removed chickenNutrition
- 2 tsps dried hot pepperNutrition
- 1 cup cornflakes, crumbledNutrition
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
- 2Add 1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning to milk.
- 3Combine all other spices with cornflake crumbs and place in plastic bag.
- 4Wash chicken and pat dry. Dip chicken into milk, shake to remove excess, then quickly shake in bag with seasoning and crumbs.
- 5Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 6Remove from refrigerator and sprinkle lightly with paprika for color.
- 7Evenly space chicken on greased baking pan.
- 8Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for an added 30–40 minutes or until meat can be easily pulled away from bone with fork. Drumsticks may require less baking time than breasts. (Do not turn chicken during baking.) Crumbs will form crispy "skin."
