  1. 1Preheat oven to 400 °F (205 °C).
  2. 2Place bacon drippings in cast iron skillet and place in heating oven.
  3. 3When cast iron skillet is hot and drippings melted, mix all dry ingredients together.
  4. 4Add egg to water and mix.
  5. 5Add egg mixture to dry ingredients and stir.
  6. 6Pour most of bacon drippings into batter from skillet and stir. Then pour batter into hot skillet.
  7. 7Bake for 30 minutes. Remove promptly.
