- 1Preheat oven to 400 °F (205 °C).
- 2Place bacon drippings in cast iron skillet and place in heating oven.
- 3When cast iron skillet is hot and drippings melted, mix all dry ingredients together.
- 4Add egg to water and mix.
- 5Add egg mixture to dry ingredients and stir.
- 6Pour most of bacon drippings into batter from skillet and stir. Then pour batter into hot skillet.
- 7Bake for 30 minutes. Remove promptly.
