Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
- 1 cup plain lowfat yogurtNutrition
- 1/2 tsp leaves dried basilNutrition
- 1/4 tsp nutmegNutrition
- 1/4 tsp saltNutrition
- 2 tsps vegetable oilNutrition
- 1 cup pieces or slices mushroomNutrition
- 3/4 tbsp chopped onionNutrition
- 2 fl oz white wine (1/4 cup)Nutrition
- 6 cups elbow shaped macaroniNutrition
- 1 lb lean beef (top round)Nutrition
Directions
- 1Cut beef into 1-inch cubes.
- 2Heat 1 teaspoon oil in nonstick skillet. Sauté onion for 2 minutes.
- 3Add beef and sauté for 5 minutes more. Turn to brown evenly. Remove from pan and keep hot.
- 4Add remaining oil to pan and sauté mushrooms.
- 5Add beef and onions to pan with seasonings.
- 6Add wine and yogurt, and gently stir in. Heat, but do not boil.
- 7Serve with macaroni.
- 8Add pepper to taste.
