Good homemade recipe that has been passed to me from many generations.

Directions

  1. 1Brown and drain beef.
  2. 2Add onion, green pepper, garlic and chili powder. Stir this really good and let sauté for a few minutes.
  3. 3Then add in tomato paste, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. 4Add red beans and water. Bring to a good simmer and then add the brown sugar (to your taste).
  5. 5Simmer on low for about 1 hour.
  6. 6Serve hot with a little grated sharp cheddar and lite sour cream.
