Red Beans & Rice
Traditional red beans and rice recipe with bacon but with turkey breast instead of sausage.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tbsps vegetable oilNutrition
- 3 medium slices baconNutrition
- 3 tbsps sugarNutrition
- 1/2 tsp pepperNutrition
- 1/2 tsp saltNutrition
- 1/2 medium bell pepperNutrition
- 1/3 cup vinegarNutrition
- 1/2 tsp garlicNutrition
- 1/2 medium onionNutrition
- 1 jalapenoNutrition
- 2 cups red beansNutrition
- 10 oz turkey breastNutrition
Directions
- 1Soak the beans for at least 4 hours to remove gasses and hydrate the beans. Then cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until softened.
- 2Cube bacon and cook in large skillet until begins to brown, then add turkey (precooked).
- 3Add onion, pepper, jalapeno, and garlic and sauté until pepper and onions are softened.
- 4Stir in vinegar, sugar, oil, salt, and pepper and heat to simmering.
- 5Stir in cooked beans and stir until warm.
- 6Serve over rice.
