  1. 1In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. 2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. 3Beat in vanilla.
  4. 4Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture (the dough will be soft).
  5. 5Drop by teaspoonfuls 2" apart on to greased baking sheets.
  6. 6Bake at 375 °F (190 °C) for 7-8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. 7Remove to wire racks to cool.
