Ingredients
- 3/4 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shreddedNutrition
- 3 cups lowfat milkNutrition
- 6 tbsps butter, dividedNutrition
- 1/2 tsp dry mustardNutrition
- 1/4 tsp pepperNutrition
- 1 tsp saltNutrition
- 1/4 tbsp worcestershire sauceNutrition
- 1 small onion, gratedNutrition
- 3/4 cup bread crumbsNutrition
- 8 oz elbow macaroni, cooked and drainedNutrition
- 1/4 cup flourNutrition
Directions
- 1In a saucepan over low-medium heat melt 4 tablespoons of butter; blend in flour and seasonings, stirring until smooth and bubbly.
- 2Gradually stir in milk; cook and stir until thick and smooth. Stir in grated onion and cheese.
- 3Place cooked drained macaroni in a buttered 3-quart casserole. Pour sauce over macaroni and gently mix to blend.
- 4Melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and toss with the bread crumbs.
- 5Sprinkle bread crumbs over the macaroni.
