Apple Strudel

Ingredients
- 1 large egg, with 1 tbsp water, lightly beaten for glazeNutrition
- 1/4 tsp cinnamonNutrition
- 1/4 tsp saltNutrition
- 1 tbsp vinegarNutrition
- 4 medium tart apples, peeled and slicedNutrition
- 1 oz margarineNutrition
- 1/4 cup sultanas or raisinsNutrition
- 1/3 cup waterNutrition
- 1/2 cup sugarNutrition
- 2 1/2 cups flour, siftedNutrition
- 1/4 cup chopped walnutsNutrition
Directions
- 1To make the pastry, blend flour and salt in a large bowl.
- 2Add margarine and cut through with a knife to blend.
- 3Add water and vinegar and knead to form dough.
- 4Divide dough in half and roll out each half until very thin.
- 5To make the filling mix all ingredients together.
- 6Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Cover each rectangle of dough with filling, roll up.
- 7Place on baking sheet with dough joint facing down.
- 8Brush with glaze and bake 45 minutes until golden.
