Bacon & Bean Soup
Bacon and ham, with tomato, peppers, onions and great northern beans make for a terrific soup.

- 1In large kettle cook bacon until crisp. Remove and drain. reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
- 2Cook ham, onion and green peppers in bacon grease until tender.
- 3Add tomatoes, water, brown sugar, vinegar, and dash of salt.
- 4Bring to boil. Reduce heat, add bacon and simmer covered 10 minutes.
- 5Reserve 2 cups beans and mash others.
- 6Add all beans to soup and heat well.
