Black and White Turkey Chili

After being served to 6 hungry adults, there was only about 1 1/2 cups leftover of this savory gobbler chili.

  1. 1Soak black beans in large bowl of water with 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda overnight. Rinse well. Place in crockpot.
  2. 2Heat skillet to medium-high, add extra virgin olive oil, yellow onion, a heaping tablespoon chopped garlic and celery. Add in a teaspoon black pepper, rosemary, Italian seasoning, a teaspoon chili powder, oregano, and 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt.
  3. 3Sauté until slightly tender. Add all to crockpot.
  4. 4In uncleaned skillet, add ground turkey and remaining spices.
  5. 5Cook, stirring frequently, until browned. Add to crockpot.
  6. 6Add remaining ingredients (except for the red onion, save for topping) to crockpot. Stir and cook on low approximately 8 hours.
  7. 7Serve with shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese, lite sour cream and chopped red onions.
