Pear Upside-Down Cherry-Almond Cake

Ingredients
- 5 tsp margarineNutrition
- 1 cup all purpose flourNutrition
- 1 container light cherry yogurtNutrition
- 3 large eggsNutrition
- 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flourNutrition
- 1 cup sugarNutrition
- 1 cup skim milkNutrition
- 1 tsp saltNutrition
- 1 tsp vanilla extractNutrition
- 1/2 tsp almond extractNutrition
- 1 medium pearNutrition
- 2 1/2 tsps baking powderNutrition
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugarNutrition
Directions
- 1Pre-heat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
- 2Spray cake pan with non-stick spray and add margarine. Put in preheating oven until margarine melt.
- 3Remove from oven and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bottom.
- 4Cut thin slices of pear and arrange at bottom of cake pan.
- 5Mix remainder of ingredients starting with dry and adding wet last.
- 6Mix until combined and pour on top of pears in cake pan.
- 7Bake 35-40 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
- 8Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes, then invert onto cake plate.
