Spicy Split Pea Soup
A delicious split pea soup with a flavor you would not expect that gives it a real kick.

- 1Heat oil in pot.
- 2Add onions, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- 3Add garlic, bay leaf and rinsed and drained peas. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- 4Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- 5Let simmer on medium heat until peas are tender (about 45 minutes ).
- 6Once tender, find and remove bay leaf, then take hand blender and blend soup until desired consistency.
- 7Serve with a dash of hot sauce. Enjoy!
