Carne Molida con Papas (Ground Beef with Potatoes)

Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp ground cuminNutrition
- 1/4 tsp garlic powderNutrition
- 1 can diced tomatoes and green chiliesNutrition
- 1/4 tsp saltNutrition
- 1/4 tsp onion powderNutrition
- 2 tbsps all-purpose flourNutrition
- 2 cups low sodium beef brothNutrition
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled, cut into stripsNutrition
- 1/4 tsp black pepperNutrition
- 1 lb ground beef 95/5Nutrition
Directions
- 1In a large skillet over medium-high heat brown the ground beef, drain.
- 2To the meat in the skillet, sprinkle flour, add the potatoes and seasonings. Cook for 8-10 minutes.
- 3Add the beef broth and tomatoes and green chilies. Bring to boil, and then lower heat, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through.
- 4Note: the onion powder and garlic powder are optional. You can leave them out because the tomatoes and green chilies have plenty of seasoning.
