  1. 1Heat the oven to 400 °F (200 °C).
  2. 2Heat the oil in a 10" skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
  3. 3Stir the onion and oregano in the skillet and cook until the onion is tender. Stir in the cheese.
  4. 4Arrange the pepper halves, cut-side up, in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Spoon the sausage mixture into the pepper halves.
  5. 5Pour the sauce over the filled pepper halves. Cover the baking dish.
  6. 6Bake for 40 minutes or until the peppers are tender.
