Ingredients
- 1 cup light margarineNutrition
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flourNutrition
- 6 large eggsNutrition
- 1/4 tsp allspiceNutrition
- 1/4 tsp cinnamonNutrition

- 1/2 tsp saltNutrition
- 1 cup packed raisinsNutrition
- 1 cup waterNutrition
- 2 tsps baking powderNutrition
- 1 tbsp honeyNutrition
- 2 cups sugarNutrition
- 8 oz figsNutrition
- 1 cup ground almondsNutrition
Directions
- 1Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
- 2Sift salt, flour, baking powder, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice).
- 3Mix honey with water and add alternately to first mixture with dry ingredients.
- 4Add raisins, figs, and nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan or angel cake pan.
- 5Bake at 375 °F (180 °C) until it tests done (about 1 or 1 1/2 hours).
